

KAUPAPA
Open Wānanga is part of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, the largest Māori tertiary education institution in Aotearoa New Zealand offering education programmes from certificate to degree level.
Open Wānanga is governed by a Board of Directors who also sit on the management council of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Open Wānanga focusses on the delivery of home based programmes, while Te Wānanga o Aotearoa delivers its programmes from more than 80 locations throughout Aotearoa including many campuses.
Both organisations share the same kaupapa (philosophy) and ngā uara (values). Our goal is to provide pathways to education that are as open as possible and our values reflect Māori goals and aspirations for advancement, while providing a system of accountability to our stakeholders.
